The Gorge main role is to ensure the sustainable management of the natural resources, extending over 6754 hectares, with special attention paid to highly endangered native plants and animals.

Le Val Nature Park – lies in a peaceful valley surrounded by green hillock, to the south-east of Mauritius at St Hubert. The park is considered to be one of the most picturesque sites of the island.
